Excruciating Fire

A fruit sparkling
Juicy and so beautiful
Don’t you wanna come and take
So you’ll know whats good and evil
It’s not until the final bite
You find it was a mistake
You cannot make it right
It’s too late

Buy from the Father, gold
Refined by excruciating fire
Don’t let your heart be sold
To the enemy the liar
Who tells you to fear
That God doesn’t really care
So cling to all that’s here
For God is not fair
He tells you this pain
Is more than you can bare
It will  all be in vain
Yet God numbers every hair

The world is fleeting
You are like a flower
Seen today then vanishing
make the most of every hour
You won’t know your last
So take up this cross
Before it has past
There is no greater loss
So if you loose your life
Only then you will find it

Listen carefully!
The Fathers knocking at your door
Can’t you hear Him calling?
To all the needy and the poor
All those who are falling
He longs to carry you
So you might depend on Him
His every word is true
Although the way is dim
That your faith might be
Strengthened in the mire
And even if you cannot see
Its made pure by excruciating fire
