Just One Mistake

The devil enjoys sowing seeds

Seeds of doubt, seeds of hate

Deep within our heart 

Over just one little mistake 

Yet perfect love casts out fear

It loves and covers all

Never exposing sins of another

It longs to help when they fall

Perfect love forgives completely 

Those lil’ jabs which later become huge

For these will not matter in a million years

So run to the Father, He is our refuge

Give to Him the misunderstanding 

Let Him heal the pain

Don’t bother complaining 

For even this will not be in vain 

He uses these to chip away

More and more of our selfish pride

For as He conforms us through each one

We find He is right there by our side 

He has a purpose for every detail 

For all He allows in our day

He is using to perfectly conform 

As we walk the straight and narrow way

Don’t get discouraged, don’t give up 

Meet Him there in the disappointment 

He longs to meet with you

It’s His perfect timing, His appointment 

Return to Him your first love

Let nothing between you and He

All human love must be uprooted

Taken out of the way completely 

Worship Him through it all

For He alone is truly worthy

Let go of your own longings

That He might receive all the glory
